Installing phpmyadmin on my localhost. WIn7 64bit + IIS 7 + PHP 5.3 + MySQL 5.1 64bit + phpmyadmin 3.2.5 or 3.3.0 beta 2.

Can see the login page, but somehow after clicking on the login button, page turns blank. Progress bar kept rolling and never stop.

Changed setting for iis, changed setting for php, reconfigure mysql instance, etc…etc….. Playing my ass off for almost 3 hours and found no solution.

finally, changed the phpmyadmin setting

$cfg['Servers'][$i]['host'] = ‘localhost’;

to

$cfg['Servers'][$i]['host'] = ’127.0.0.1′;

3 hours of searching and tweaking and hair falling + 9 characters changed === PROBLEM SOLVED

Have a hosting account on ixwebhosting.com. Used to use outlook for desktop client. When I was using outlook 2010 beta1, everything goes smooth.

Just reformat my comp and installed everything, including outlook 2010 beta2. And trouble begins.

I can send/receive emails with no problem. All mails are fetched to my desktop correctly. However when I try to send any email, it pops up “The operation failed. An object cannot be found”.

It drives me crazy…crazy…crazy…..

Chatted with ixwebhosting support and they say their server is using something called “receive before send”. Therefore I must ‘fetch” all mails before sending any. However in outlook, it ALWAYS do the sending before fetching…And I failed to find the place to tweak this setting.

ANyway, tired of doing all these shit. Decided to divert my mail server to google app

前两天baidu.com被黑了， 还黑了很久很久。 我这边访问只是看到404， 其他时间都（不久就）正常。但好像在国内持续了几个小时。

于是(post hoc) 今天早上google解封了，没有跟ZF解封，只是对用户解封。这步棋google走的真TMD妙。随之近几个星期BT倒下，blogbus倒下(checked this morning and it is up. however some of the articles are forced removed/hidden)，连taobao都开始了整风运动，google 算是第一个站出来跟国家队讲NO的。民间的力量始终成不了气候。不管keso怎么说，三表哥怎么骂，牛博怎么讽， 网络的民众始终形成不了一股力量。而老百姓的声音，往往是最难最难传到当政者（不管什么出身）的耳中的。就算传到了，也只是当作耳边风。好吧，现在google站起来了，仿佛一面旗帜……

不过旗帜是有了，颜色却不分明。

红旗的话，摆明了是一次绝世无双的进攻。既是攻击，又是树牌坊(No Evil)。  于是全世界的全国内的赞扬声响成一片，歌功颂德，泪流满面。（不可否认确实是很胆大的一步棋）google就是做了压制已久的人民盼望的一个先锋团，而且还是混血的，而且还是贵族血统。

白旗的话，已经有万万民众自发地献花树碑了。反正进入中国4年多了，也没有什么拿得出手的东西。市场占有率在怎么也不可能超过频上春晚的百毒。还不如讲个俏话，积蓄力量下次再来。况且作为互联网的霸主，看ZF怎么对应。况且国内上网的民众，十个有六个已经在每天翻墙运动身体了，这下除了youtube, 又有google.com这个绝好的动力。Nexus one出了没几个小时，国内的“美国代购”， “香港代购”， “新加坡代购”的攻略就已经出炉，钱还不是照样赚？话说回来，就像iphone一样，现如今国内有几个人真正从“正规渠道”买这些东西呢？

如若google真的撤出，就变成百毒的一家独大。不可想象今后会是什么样子。民族企业（还是美资加一个中国皮？）之崛起，对外开放之狗屁。

况且，以退为进，google也不一定就舍得下这杯金羹。

愈演愈烈，美国政府也搞了进来。不过忽然意识到这恰巧是ZF新的公关机构的一次绝好机会。不是还没“正式回应”么？国人搞这套太极应该是游刃有余的，只看天朝公关处怎么作秀了。 搞好了就是拉起几万万民众同仇敌忾，搞不好就是被印上八个大字：“闭关锁国 祸国殃民”。

我没有办法证实所有“私有性质的BBS和Blog” are all closed, but at least two of them, for sure.

Not sure if it’s me or gWave really become faster. Less active wavers? or maybe they did some upgrade at the server…

gOS conference revealed several screenshots. So generally, it’s just a browser-OS build on linux. No fun at all… At least not appealing to me at the moment.

Anyway, trying out this 波 for around 1 week now. And found…

1, concept is brilliant.

2, usage could be limitless

3, works best on chrome (so far)

4, on the 7th day, chrome + google input(chinese) + gWave == screwed up. I can only type english inside waves…

5, speed is slow like hell, and it gets slower while wave grow longer…

6, wavers are less..participative…. At the first day I can see waves updating in the count of 2/sec or 3/sec. After 7 days, the updating rate is around 1/20mins……And mostly are chinese wavers.

Just a random thought : chinese wavers are more participative because (A), there are more chinese user.. :p at least when I am awake. (B), chinese conversations are more …精简….which means chinese waves are generally “shorter”, therefore the speed is faster, therefore less waver would give up on “waving”….

Have so many projects planning in my head, yet has no spirit to really work on them.

Need to work my ass off tmr…

Recent week everybody (IT world) is talking about the newly announced Chrome OS – Google, and the upcoming M$ Office Online. Well, as chrome still have us to wait for at least another 12~18 months, what we can do is only speculation.

The link above listed some of the “amazing” videos of the Office 2010, and the online version. Surprisingly you would find that the presenter is using firefox to view his online apps. And he also claims that “it is the largest JS application on the web, for now.” “Largest”, “heaviest”…. I guess we all now that when it comes to js rendering, CHROME does ROCK. The fact that M$ ppl are choosing firefox simply says “IE sucks!”, and “Chrome is really our competitor…”.

“labs” setting comes to GCalendar! Well, though there isn’t much exciting tweaks, it is indeed worth checking out. And I do believe google could do a better job at its gTask app… Best if it could sync with iphone in the future

It is only until today I found out how to sync multiple google calendars with iPhone. Slow I am… :S

Step 1 : setup iphone exchange server.

Step 2 : Using iPhone safari to access m.google.com

Step 3 : Choose “sync”

Step 4 : Click on “iPhone” – ur sync device

Step 5 : choose the calendars you want to sync with iPhone (max 5), then click on “save”

DONE!
