15 year ago, Dan Dulitz once said, “I’m writing this emulator is so that Win3.1 will run under Linux.” Well, 15 years later, Wine 1.0 will be out finally, on the 1st of June, 2008. I haven’t used wine for ages. basically because of the ultimate power of Virtualbox, and the buggy experience of wine on linux. Just hope there could be a significant improvement on 01/06. After all, it’s still a great project that would be supported by all linuxer.

Totally gave up Kubuntu, installation of NVIDIA driver is just PAINFUL. And in the end still cant configure my dual panel working at difference resolution.

Changed back to Gnome.

Read an article on the Greader today. Knowing it’s really great that wine now “truly” support Photoshop CS3/CS2. Well, “truly” or not, we still need to get the reviews from user. But definitely it’s going towards the right direction.

After all, thanks to Google.

Last night I was trying to install the “global bar” on my gutsy, but accidentally removed hundreds of packages in the system. :’( In the end I had make up my mind and downloaded Kubuntu-KDE4 alpha6, and installed. Excellent UI and system integration it is. However, my dual displays stopped working after I installed the latest NVIDIA driver.

Yu men, need to fight my “xorg.conf” war again tonight. Still remember last year when I tried to configure my dual panel, I almost restart my rig for over 20 times that night. Hope this wont happen again.

to be continued…
