You can get the signup/invitation here.  10 invitation codes I received this morning.

Doubtlessly the interface has a significant improvement from IE6/7/8. Sharp and Simple navigation bar just like chrome. Tab bar is using small thumbnails instead of conventional “tabs”, plus small cute animation when rollover. However when I go to “http://acid3.acidtests.org/”, I got my birthday …. 13/100.

Well maybe this is not meant to be a browser anyway. As stated on its home page : “Pivot makes it easier to interact with massive amounts of data in ways that are powerful, informative, and fun.” So it’s about fun only… I wonder once user get access to the specific data/media they need, what are they suppose to do with them?

I have to admit that this “information gathering” thing is done really really good in pivot. I can easily get to know the individual post of yoga and get the specific instruction linking to that photo. I can get the weight and height and all kinds of information on YaoMing once I navigate to NBA->Rockets->YaoMing. I can also navigate to Ben Affleck’s biography simply by 2 left clicks.

Each and every “page” is in cxml format. The architecture is here, if you want to explore…

Recent week everybody (IT world) is talking about the newly announced Chrome OS – Google, and the upcoming M$ Office Online. Well, as chrome still have us to wait for at least another 12~18 months, what we can do is only speculation.

The link above listed some of the “amazing” videos of the Office 2010, and the online version. Surprisingly you would find that the presenter is using firefox to view his online apps. And he also claims that “it is the largest JS application on the web, for now.” “Largest”, “heaviest”…. I guess we all now that when it comes to js rendering, CHROME does ROCK. The fact that M$ ppl are choosing firefox simply says “IE sucks!”, and “Chrome is really our competitor…”.

“labs” setting comes to GCalendar! Well, though there isn’t much exciting tweaks, it is indeed worth checking out. And I do believe google could do a better job at its gTask app… Best if it could sync with iphone in the future :D
